Mocha Dalgona Coffee Recipe

Vegan, dairy-free.

The trending drink just had a chocolaty glow up!

An iced chocolate frappe with a mocha coffee whip.

This drink reminds me of a Starbucks Frappuccino, which I am heavily missing whilst being in quarantine- haha!

This is a must make if you like mocha, and all things chocolate!

Watch how I made this drink here.

I haven’t seen this combo done yet so I am excited to share it with you. It’s very tasty!!!

Preparation- 10 minutes

Serves- 3

Level- Easy

Ingredients for the chocolate drink

-200ml of dairy-free milk

-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

-2 teaspoons of maple syrup

-A large handful of ice

Ingredients for the coffee whip

-2 tablespoons of coffee granules

-2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

-2 tablespoons of warm water

-1 teaspoon of cocoa powder

To make the coffee whip

Step 1- In a bowl, add in the coffee, granulated sugar, water and cocoa powder.

Step 2- Whisk vigorously for around 5-8 minutes until thick and creamy, then set aside.

To make the iced chocolate drink

Step 1- Place the dairy-free milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup and ice a blender and blend until smooth and combined.

Step 2- Pour the chocolate drink into glasses.

Fill the glass with how much milk you like.

Step 3- Spoon the coffee cream ontop.

I served my drinks with a drizzle of melted chocolate and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Enjoy fresh and chilled!

Mine didn’t come out as pretty as the picture. Tastes ok. Figured out after trying to whip coffee grounds for 10min that it’s instant coffee with Xantham Gum in it that you need, so wish it said “instant coffee” in the recipe. Thanks for having a way for us vegans to try this new trend tho!

Hello Veronica, The coffee i use is natural 100% soluble coffee, there isnt a need for the Xantham gum! Hope that helps 🙂 x
