Date night with my cat & Avocado bagels recipe

There’s nothing I love to do more than snuggle up with my gorgeous cat Tiggs, and have a date night together!
However, I am aware that there are ongoing debates about whether, as a vegan, you should feed your pet a meat or vegan based diet.
Before I turned vegan, I had already owned a few gorgeous pets. The family dog 'Jasper' was raised on a vegetarian diet for most of his life, but I am aware that it can be a more bit tricky with cats as there is a need for nutrients only found in a meat-based diet (Dogs are classed as omnivores as opposed to cats who are classed as total carnivores).

I have thoroughly researched into vegan based diets for cats and through my research, I found that it could lead your cat to develop certain health concerns. Obviously, we all want to do what's best for our animals, so if you do decide to raise your pet on a vegan based diet, make sure you thoroughly research so you know how to substitute the nutrients for them. It is up to you and what you think is best for your pet.

As a family we try to give our cat Tiggs the best life he could possibly have, he truly is like a little baby to us! He gets fully fed, petted, let out to roam the world, regular checkups at the vets... and then some more cuddles.

Ontop of that, I wanted to treat Tiggs to a dinner date!

Whiskas approached me to use their new range of casserole cat food with my cat on our special night.
The cat food is developed by experts at Waltham, and each meal is complete and balanced to provide the best for your pet!
On my dinner date with Tiggs, I decided to make some delicious avocado bagels with a garlic & chilli avocado topping, radishes, cress and strawberries (which compliment avocado beautifully). These were for me of course - (Tiggs had a separate bowl for his Whiskas).

We snuggled up whilst watching The Jungle Book (One of my favourite films. The jungle tigers remind me of my own mini tiger!)
Its totally okay to be BFF's with your cat - right?

I really enjoyed spending a little date night with my cat. I feel its important to take time out to bond with him one-on-one, and he enjoyed the cuddles and food (as did I).

This post is in conjunction with WHISKAS® but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Avocado bagel recipe
These bagels are perfect for a date night as they're quick & easy to make, perfect to nibble on in bed, snuggled with your pet watching films...maybe have a dessert too!
For dessert, I enjoyed some of my homemade wagon wheels, Tigg's just had to watch me tuck into dessert- haha!

-1 ripe avocado
-1 garlic clove (crushed)
-1/2 lime (juice only)
-Pinch of chilli flakes

Step 1- Place the avocado into a bowl and mash with a fork.

Step 2- Crush a garlic clove and add it into the mashed avocado along with the lime juice.

Step 3- Toast the bagels until brown and crisp and spread the avocado over the top, and serve with radish slices, cress and strawberries (optional).
I also added on some chia seeds for extra protein.

Best eaten day of making.
