Jack Skellington Oreo Truffles

These No-Bake, vegan friendly Jack Skellington Oreo Truffles have the flavour of Oreo cheesecake and the soft texture of a truffle that melts in your mouth. They’re also shapes as mini Jack Skellington’s from Nightmare before Christmas for Halloween, super cute, spooky and festive.

Units Scale

  • 350g of Oreo cookies
  • 150g of dairy-free cream cheese
  • 1 box of mini Oreos
  • 500g of dairy-free white chocolate
  • 150g of dairy-free dark chocolate

  1. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Place the 350g of Oreo cookies in a food processor and blitz until fine /crumb-like. You could crush them using a rolling pin if you don’t have an electric mixer.
  3. Pour them into a large mixing bowl & add in the cream cheese. Mix the cream cheese and Oreos together until fully incorporated, you can use clean hands to help combine the mixture. If the mixture feels too wet, add in some more Oreos. It should be thick and sticky, and easily form a ball when rolled in your hands.
  4. With clean hands, grab some of the dough, and roll into balls. Each truffle will require a small 20g and a larger 40g ball of the Oreo mixture for the skeleton man head and body.
  5. Place the dairy-free white chocolate into a heat-proof bowl. Fill a small saucepan 1/4 with water and place over the hob on a low / medium heat. Place the bowl on-top to create a bain-marie. Melt the chocolate and allow to cool for a few minutes. Pour into a heat proof glass or jug, one thats tall and wide enough to dunk the truffles in. You can also melt this in the microwave to melt the chocolate.
  6. Dip the end of a cake pop stick into the melted chocolate and stick into the 40g sized truffles. Dip the base of the 20g ball truffle in chocolate and press next to it to create the skeleton man ‘head and body’ shape. Watch the tutorial here.
  7. Twist the mini Oreo’s in half. Dip the mini Oreo’s in chocolate and press into the truffle creating the ‘arm and leg’ shape. This helps everything stick when dunking in the chocolate.
  8. Place the truffles into the freezer for 10 minutes to fully set. Once set, remove from the freezer and carefully dunk them in the melted white chocolate. Make sure to coat the entire truffle in chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the glass/jug. Repeat for all of the truffles. Transfer back into the freezer for 10 minutes to set the chocolate while you melt the dark chocolate. You may have to dunk them twice to get a good coating of white chocolate which covers the dark tone of the truffle.
  9. Melt the dark chocolate in either the microwave or on the hob again, allow the chocolate to cool slightly then transfer into a piping bag and snip off the tip.
  10. Use the dark chocolate to pipe on the skeleton details (see photos and video for reference).
  11. Place into the fridge and allow the chocolate to set.
  12. Serve and enjoy.

To store: Store in a sealed / air tight container in the fridge. They can be eaten directly out of the fridge. Best enjoyed within a week of making!
