Black bean burgers with the best burger sauce recipe

Vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free, quick & easy

I am so happy to share with you the best vegan burger recipe...EVER!

This burger along with homemade burger sauce is 'out of this world' good. They're delicious!!!

The burger is made using black beans. Black beans are amazing in protein, fibre and antioxidants.

I made the best burger sauce I've ever had. It reminds me of the sauce I enjoyed at Vurger.co in London.
The sauce is thick, creamy and mildly spiced. It's scrumptious along with this burger.
These burgers are quick & easy to make and would make a perfect lunch or dinner option, everyone will enjoy!

Preparation- 5 minutes

Cooking time- Around 10-15 minutes
Makes- Around 8

Ingredients
-5 tablespoons of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water
-2 cartons (470g) of black beans (Drained but not washed)
-60g of gluten-free breadcrumbs 
-1 teaspoon of garlic granules
-1 white onion (Minced)
-1/4 teaspoon of chilli flakes
-Pinch of salt and pepper
+2 tablespoons of oil (for shallow frying) 

Ingredients for the burger sauce

190g vegan mayonnaise
-1 & 1/2 teaspoon of mustard
-3 tablespoons of hot sauce 
-1/4 teaspoon of garlic granules
-Pinch of salt and pepper

To make the burgers

Step 1- Place the chia and water into a bowl, stir and leave to thicken/jellify.
This creates a vegan egg. 

Step 2- Place the black beans into a bowl and mash.

Step 3- Add in the breadcrumbs, garlic granules, minced onion, chilli flakes, salt and pepper and mix until combined.

Step 4- Form the mixture into burgers.
Step 5- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.

Step 6- Add in the burgers and cook for around 4-5 minutes on each side until golden in colour.

Serve fresh with some of the best vegan burger sauce.

To make the burger sauce

Step 1- Place all of the ingredients into a blender and whizz up until combined.

I served my burgers in a whole grain burger bun, with fresh spinach leaves, fresh tomato slices, freshly sliced onion rings and burger sauce. YUM! 


Best enjoyed fresh, day of making.

Store the sauce in a sealed container in the fridge.
