If you’re a follower of mine already, you’ll know I love quick and easy desserts! If they’re no bake too, it’s a win-win!

These chocolate Vegan Peanut Butter Hearts are perfect to make for Valentines day, or any occasion in need of a tasty little treat! You can pack a bunch of these tasty little hearts into a small gift bag and give to someone you love! A homemade treat is always a nice way to show someone you care!

Who needs peanut butter cups when you can enjoy a heart version?!

From the smooth and silky peanut butter filling, to the rich and decadent chocolate… they’re a must make!

Ingredients you’ll need:

These Vegan Peanut Butter Hearts couldn’t be easier. You’ll need two easy to find ingredients – chocolate and peanut butter.

It depends on if you want the filing to be smooth or crunchy. You can pick and choose the filling, along with what chocolate you want to coat them.

I opted for a dairy-free dark chocolate as I like the contrast in rich flavours, but it’s completely up to you!

Helpful kitchen tools:

  • Grease proof paper- You’ll definitely need a few sheets of grease proof paper for this recipe, to prevent any sticking.
  • Heart shaped cookie cutter- Heart cookie cutters make for gorgeous shaped treats!
  • A spoon and fork- Helpful for balancing and drizzling the chocolate!

I wanted to make these as easy as possible so the filling only consists of peanut butter.

This has it’s pro’s and con’s – The pro is that they only contain 1 ingredient, the con is that they are very melty and you have to be very quick whilst working with them!

The peanut butter will have to be melted, then frozen, cut out with a cookie cutter, placed back into the freezer, dunked in chocolate and back into the freezer again. There is a lot of ‘back and forth from the freeze’ with this recipe, but it’s totally worth it! They taste so good and melt in your mouth!

Vegan Peanut Butter Hearts

Vegan, No-Bake and Easy, these 2 ingredient Peanut Butter Cups are perfect for Valentines day or any occasion needing a simple treat!

Watch me make them here.

Units Scale
  • 500g of vegan friendly, smooth / crunchy peanut butter
  • 200g of dairy-free dark chocolate

Method (peanut filling)

  1. Line 8 x 8 inch square baking tin with greaseproof paper, leaving the paper overhang the sides so you can easily lift it out later and set aside.
  2. Add the peanut butter into a small / medium saucepan, place on the hob over low / medium heat and allow to melt. Use a heat proof spatula to prevent any burning.
  3. Pour the melted peanut butter into the lined tin and place into the freezer until firm. This will take around 2 hours.
  4. When the mixture is firm enough, remove from the freezer and use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts from the peanut butter and place back into some grease proof paper. You’ll want to be quick with this step as the peanut butter can melt easily.  Repeat for all of the hearts and place back into the freezer for an hour, until firm.

Method (chocolate coating)

  1. Add the dairy-free chocolate into a heat proof bowl. Fill a medium sized saucepan 1/4 full with water. Place the saucepan on the hob over low / medium heat, and add the bowl on top. This creates a bain-marie. Allow the chocolate to melt, then cool slightly.
  2. Balance a heart onto a fork, and drizzle the chocolate over the top, then place back on grease proof paper and into the freezer to set. You’ll want to be very fast when adding the chocolate, as the peanut butter can melt very fast due to the heat. Repeat for all hearts.
  3. Store in the fridge or freeze for longer storage.
  4. Optional- Add some melted peanut butter into a piping bag, snip off the tip and drizzle the melted peanut butter over the hearts for decoration.
