Cocoa & Vanilla flapjacks

Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, wheat-free

This recipe was inspired by the 'Graze' cocoa vanilla flapjacks.

 The flapjack is so yummy, i took it upon myself to replicate the flavour and i think i have done pretty well! They taste almost identical, so says my sister!

This flapjack contains natural sugars and chia seeds for added protein.
I also added a drizzle of homemade cacao chocolate for a richer chocolate taste!

This recipe is quick, simple & easy. They are perfect for snacking on during the day or enjoying as a dessert paired with fresh berries!

Ingredients for the flapjacks
-250g of gluten-free oats
-130g of dairy-free margarine
-5 tablespoons of maple syrup
-Pinch of salt
-4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
-3 tablespoons of vanilla flavouring
-20g of chia seeds

Ingredients for the chocolate
- 1 cup of coconut oil (melted)
-1/2 cup of maple syrup
-5 tablespoons of cacao powder

Step 1-  Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with grease proof paper.

Step 2- Melt the margarine and Maple Syrup together in a small saucepan on the hob.

Step 3- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted margarine & maple syrup along with the oats, salt, cocoa powder, vanilla flavouring & chia seeds.
Mix well until fully combined.
Step 4- Firmly press into your lined baking tray. Make sure to get right into the edges.

Pop the Tray into the middle of the pre-heated oven and leave to bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5- Remove the tray from the oven and place onto a cooling rack to fully cool down!

To make the chocolate drizzle
Step 1- In a small saucepan, combine the coconut oil, maple syrup and cacao powder. Mix until smooth.


Step 2- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the flapjacks and place in the fridge and allow the chocolate to set.

Keep stored in a sealed Container in the Fridge
