What is a Tim Tam?

If you’ve heard or seen packets of ‘Tim Tam’ in the supermarkets, it’s an iconic Australian chocolate biscuit that is extremely popular worldwide! It’s consists of two chocolate malted biscuits sandwiched with a thick, creamy chocolate filling, then coated in smooth decadent chocolate. I personally have never tried them as they are no suitable for vegans, BUT I remember something similar in my childhood called a ‘Penguin’ (as UK fave) chocolate biscuits with a creamy chocolate filling coated in chocolate. I’ve recently posted a new Biscoff recipe (No-Bake Biscoff Slices) and it’s gone super viral on social media (over 4 million views in a week!). I wanted to create another fun and easy Biscoff recipe with little prep, no-bake and minimal ingredients. These Biscoff Tim Tams are a MUST MAKE if you’re Biscoff obsessed like me!

Ingredients you’ll need for Biscoff Tim Tams

  • Biscoff biscuits / cookies – Use as the biscuit base, replacing traditional chocolate Tim Tam biscuits.
  • Biscoff spread / cookie butter – Acts as the creamy filling between the cookies and adds rich caramel flavour and gooey filling.
  • Dairy-free white chocolate – Melted then mixed with Biscoff spread, used to coat the biscuits, giving a sweet outer shell while keeping the recipe dairy-free and utterly delicious! My go-to vegan white chocolates are Sainsburys Free From White Chocolate, Ombar Blonde and Ichoc Vanilla.

Description

How to make these easy 3 Ingredient and no-bake Biscoff Tim Tams. Crispy, crunchy and super creamy… perfect to enjoy with a cup of tea / coffee!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packets Biscoff biscuits
  • 1/2 jar of Biscoff spread (smooth)
  • 300g of dairy-free white chocolate, melted
  • Crushed Biscoff biscuits (for topping)

Instructions

Method )Prepare the biscuits)

  1. Lay whole Biscoff biscuits flat on a lined tray or board, forming a single even layer.
  2. Spoon Biscoff spread into a piping bag and snip off the tip.
  3. Pipe a thick, even layer of Biscoff spread over the biscuits. Alternatively you could spread the Biscoff spread on the biscuits.
  4. Place another Biscoff biscuit on top, gently pressing down to sandwich the filling.
  5. Place into the fridge to set. You could even freeze them so the filling is firm, ready for the chocolate coating.

Method (coat in biscoff chocolate)

  1. Melt the daiy-free white chocolate and 2-3 tablespoons of biscoff spread together (either in a microwave in 20 second intervals stirring occasionally or using a bain-marie – saucepan filled with water, place d on the hob with a heatproof bowl on top with the chocolate and biscoff inside, melt).
  2. Coat each biscoff bar into the melted biscoff chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off back into the bowl. Place on baking paper.
  3. Place in the fridge to chill / set.
  4. To decorate, transfer left over biscoff chocolate into a piping bag and drizzle melted Biscoff spread over the top and immediately sprinkle with crushed Biscoff biscuits to it sticks
  5. Refrigerate until fully set (about 20 minutes), then serve and enjoy!

Notes

Storing: Keep stored in the fridge in an airtight / sealed container. Lay with grease proof / parchment in-between layers. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes at room temp before eating to allow the chocolate to softern, or enjoy storage from the fridge! Store for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Freezer: Store in an airtight / sealed container. Thaw for 20-25 minutes before enjoying. Store for up to 2 months in the freezer
